Shizuka, "Zuki", is my grandmother's first WHITE
Lamancha! I want to thank Lauren Acton for this doe. Shizuka is also one of a kind; she loves to show in the ring,
when she feels that it is her day. Shizuka is funny in that she decides when she wants to show and when she doesn't.
When she thinks it is time to shine, she literally talks and has tremendous grace when walking around the ring.
Shizuka is quite an elegant doe. She really excels in
dairy character. Not only are her ribs set wide apart; they are flat and angle nicely toward her flank. In
general appearance, she has a very level topline and withers that are set sharply above her shoulders. Along with a
level topline, her rump follows nicely; being level and wide from hips to pins and thurl to thurl. The mammary system
has a pleasing shape and the fore udder blends well into the body wall. In the past year, Shizuka has filled out her
udder and increased the capasity tremendously.
Shizuka has done extremely well in the show ring. She
has proved to be a huge asset to the herd. She recieved two milking legs at the TVDGA show in Homedale under Rebecca
Clarke and at the RVDGA in Central Point under Tessa Maggulli. After a long awaited third leg, Shizuka
finally finished in a very competitive show, NWODGA, with some of the top herds on the West Coast.
Shizuka faults in maturity and teat placement.
Her teats tend to not point plumbly to the floor and when not full she lacks in rear udder capasity. I do not doubt
that the coming years will bring the maturity of this doe out. I expect her to deepen in the barrel and increase her
mammary capasity.
